Cloudy-Fish Cocktail is a tropical daydream with no apparent beginning and absolutely no need for an end. A pink cocktail (because they always taste the best!) with a swimming clownfish (take him home and love him, like you won him at a school fete in 1988). A flamingo, a palm tree and a cherry like the ones Grandma used to bring on Christmas Day.

The ones where a fish swims in a cocktail... around and around. The monotony of day-to-day, reassuring like clockwork, but nobody ever really remembers. Flowers bloom like a sunrise, sometimes surprisingly fast and strangely unexpected... and everybody wonders who invited the flamingo, but nobody really cares.

Montage is visual poetry. Familiar things are taken apart and put back together until they become something else entirely. Dreamlike in many ways. As always, all that matters is the effect. What does this mean to you? What did you call your fish? Our memories are vast, specific, vague, vivid and fleeting all at once... and then the Mix-Master of sleep whips everything into chaos and complexity, and we find ourselves running (that type of running where we can’t remember how to run) through empty car parks, away from bears (or worse).
Cloudy-Fish Cocktail celebrates the strange way memories blur, shift and become more beautiful with time. Colours fade to rose-tinted sepia. Then the contrasts of reality shake us back to life, ground us... and gently remind us that daydreaming is often better than the dreams we have when we eventually drift off to sleep.
Oh and the meaning of life? We search for, and hopefully find happiness halfway between a tropical paradise and a slightly cloudy state of mind. That's the place we fondly refer to as "home".
